NOTICE: CISSP Mentorship Program runs every Tuesday at 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM ET starting on March 17th and concluding May 26th for the first session of 2026 and September 9th and concluding November 11th for the second session of 2025. Registering for the upcoming event will grant you access to all the weekly meetings. To accomplish this, Secure Ideas has developed a mentorship program designed to provide the knowledge necessary to pass the certification, while working through the common body of knowledge (CBK) in a manner that encourages retention of the knowledge. The mentorship program is designed as a 10-week series of sessions along with various student support and communication methods. These work together to provide the student a solid foundation to not only help in passing the certification but to continue as a collection of information for everyday work. This class is set up to cover the 8 domains of the ISC2 CBK.

- This class is done through a combination of online recorded and video conferencing materials, therefore a laptop or desktop computer is recommended.

Syllabus

The Professionally Evil CISSP Mentorship Program uses multiple communication and knowledge sharing paths to build a comprehensive learning environment focused on both passing the CISSP certification and gaining a deep understanding of the CBK.

The program consists of the following parts:

- Official study guide book

- Weekly live session with instructor(s)

- Live session will also be recorded

- Private Slack team for students and instructors to communicate regularly

- Practice Exams

While we believe students will pass on their first try, we also include the option for students to take the program as many times as they want, any time we offer it.

All students receive access to live class lectures, class recordings, and a private Slack team for student/instructor communication.

Kevin Johnson is CEO of Secure Ideas, a consulting company dedicated to security testing and training. Kevin passionately advocates for cybersecurity through his work with Secure Ideas, as a global board member for OWASP and as a faculty member at IANS. During his over 30 years in the industry, Kevin acted as an instructor and author for the SANS institute.

Kathy Collins is a Security Consultant at Secure Ideas, where she specializes in a wide range of penetration testing, from physical to web applications. She’s a contributor to the Secure Ideas knowledge center, produces the Professionally Evil Podcast, and serves as a key coordinator for BSides Jacksonville . Kathy studied Cybersecurity at Fullstack Academy New York and has earned certifications like the CISSP.

Aaron Moss

Bio

Aaron Moss is a Senior Consultant for Secure Ideas. With almost 20 years in various technical roles ranging from Helpdesk to IT Consultant to Director of IT Operations, he has expertise in multiple areas and disciplines. He particularly enjoys network pentesting, an area he specializes in.
Aaron is excited to be one of the co-founders and organizers for Oklahoma’s largest Information Security/Hacker conference, BSides Oklahoma. Participating in BSidesOK is a humbling and rewarding experience which allows him to connect with other IT and Security experts in Oklahoma and the surrounding states.
Outside of hacking all the things, he loves spending time with Jade (his wife) and family playing games of all kinds, watching Horror movies (especially slashers!), air drumming to Cannibal Corpse and Slayer, or making random gory and grotesque horror movie/haunted house props and masks.
